DSS detains five suspects allegedly linked to kidnapping, killing of girl in Kano

The Kano State branch of the Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested five individuals accused of kidnapping and killing of an eight-year-old girl named Sakina Mamuda.

The crime took place in the Duhunbake area of Gwarzo Local Government Area, Kano State.

The suspects reportedly abducted the girl and demanded ransom, but they proceeded to strangle her and dispose of her body in a well.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Zailani Rabi’u, Hafizu Yusuf Muhd, Abubakar Abdulkarim (also known as Danyaro), Umar Lawan Abdullahi, and Amadu Salisu (also known as Amadi).

Kano State’s Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Dederi, confirmed the arrests and commended the DSS for their quick response, apprehending all five suspects within a few days.

Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, extended his condolences to the family of the deceased girl and the community of Duhunbake.

Governor Yusuf assured that the state government would continue to work with security agencies to ensure the safety and protection of lives and property of Kano people.
