Former Fenerbahçe attacking midfielder, Rıdvan Dilmen, has cautioned Mauro Icardi to recognize Victor Osimhen as Galatasaray’s primary striker.

According to Dilmen, the center-forward role at Galatasaray rightfully belongs to Osimhen, and Icardi must either accept this reality or step aside.

In a recent appearance on the Sports Digitale YouTube channel, Dilmen stated: “Okan Buruk doesn’t want to upset Icardi either. However, the Champions League does not allow for sentimentality.

“A match with Icardi would have played out differently; you wouldn’t have had the same start with him in this game, nor would you have scored the third goal.

“If emotions override logic in coaching, success becomes unattainable. This team’s center forward is Osimhen. Icardi will either accept it or step aside.”

Both Osimhen and Icardi found the net as Galatasaray triumphed over Göztepe with a score of 3-1 in the Turkish Super Lig over the weekend.
