Former Governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, has said that he never called for the resignation of the incumbent governor, Caleb Mutfwang, following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Jang made this rebuttal in a statement by his media consultant, Clinton Garuba, on Monday, describing the report as misleading and taken out of context.

According to him, at no point during a PDP stakeholders’ meeting held last week did he demand the governor’s resignation.

The former governor said his comment rather criticised the trend of politicians defecting from their Parties.

“I have never asked for Governor Mutfwang’s resignation because he dumped the PDP for the APC.

“I want Plateau residents to disregard the report and continue supporting Governor Mutfwang, who governs with a legitimate mandate given to him by the people of the state,” Jang said.
