‘The Rockstar’ was thrilled to have reached the second round of the Ally Pally event, so much so that he let slip an expletive during his post-match interview with Sky Sports’ Abigail Davies.

After Davies described his victory as ‘cracking’, Cullen responded: “It was cracking, love. It was f***ing cracking!”

Realizing his mistake, Cullen quickly covered his mouth and added: “I didn’t mean to say that, sorry!

“That’s a fine. I’ll pay it now!”

A delighted Cullen then reflected on his win, stating: “I knew I was facing a strong competitor in Brad; he’s had an excellent year.

“It was somewhat reminiscent of last year. I wasn’t aware, but my son actually told me that Bradley was the favorite. I was surprised, thinking, ‘Really?’

“Brad has had a fantastic year, but I possess a lot of experience on this stage. I’ve probably cost a few people a lot of money today.

“I was completely ready for it. Honestly, I was a bit subdued the week before, but my son informed me that Bradley was an 8/13 favorite.

“That’s nothing against Brad. I like him; we get along well.

“Especially here. If it were on Board 14 in Leicester [at the Players Championship], I would understand that. But I was really motivated today.”

The No.32-ranked Cullen made sure to conclude his interview with another apology.

He said: “I apologize for the swearing during the Gavin and Stacey reference.”
