A FORMER cruise ship worker has revealed the reason you may be approached on board if you’re wearing a black ring.

Posting to her Youtube channel, the former cruise ship worker revealed that wearing black or pineapple themed jewellery on board a ship can indicate that you are a.
Lucy, from , revealed in the viral video, which has racked up more than one million views, that she discovered the secret whilst working in a spa on board a ship.
She explained that after seeing a couple wearing matching upside down pineapple necklaces, she complimented them on the jewellery, and asked what the meaning behind the fruit chains was.
The couple immediately erupted in to fits of laughter, and told Lucy: “Look, we’re swingers, this is how people can identify us as swingers.”;
Lucy, who spent a decade working on board , continued to chat to the couple, and learned lots of other secret swinger signs, such as wearing a black ring on your left hand.
She added: “There is a unicorn, which is basically a woman who wants to swing on her own â so wants to with a couple.
“And then a rhino is a single man willing to swing.
“A mermaid is a married woman willing to swing with a couple on her own, and then rainbow is pretty obvious that they’re happy to swing with everyone and anyone.”;
These codes are not official codes used by cruise lines, but are simply discreet signals within the community.
She explained that as well as wearing these symbols as jewellery, some people also choose to place them on the doors of their cabins.
However, Lucy urged on cruise ships to look out for other signs before approaching people wearing black rings, as this could be a simple “fashion statement”;.
Lucy added that swingers commonly use phrases such as DDF which means “drug and disease free”; and HMP, which means “height, weight proportional”; and informs other swingers that they are not “overweight”;.
She added that she came across swingers way more often on family cruises than she did on adults only cruises.
Lucy explained that she believes that swinging has become more popular on cruise ships in recent years because it is easier to find other people who want to swing on an enclosed ship.
However, she said that swingers must not have sex in public or on their balconies.
“Just do it in your cabin like regular people”;, she said.
