The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that the Federal High Court's ruling will not impede its preparations for the upcoming national convention set to take place in November.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, shared this information in a statement on Thursday following the court’s decision.

Ologunagba characterized the ruling as a threat to Nigeria’s democratic process.

He stated that, despite the judgment, the PDP is fully authorized to proceed with the arrangements leading up to the convention.

“We will continue with our party's convention, during which new national officers will be elected to lead the party for the next four years,” he affirmed.

According to DAILY POST, a Federal High Court in Abuja has issued an order preventing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from proceeding with the convention.

Justice James Omotosho delivered this ruling on Friday while addressing a lawsuit that questioned the legality of the convention.
