A COUPLE have been tragically killed after a car smashed into them outside a wine cellar in the popular Canary Islands.
Emergency services were called to reports of the fatal crash at around 7pm on Sunday outside rural winery La Tienda del Vino in La Gomera.

Cops said the two individuals were sat on a bench chatting when a car careered off the road and devastatingly ploughed into them.
Both the man and the woman were killed instantly as there was “nothing they could have done to get out of the way,” police added.
The pair were sitting outside La Tienda del Vino, a winery visited by thousands of Brits every year and is considered a must-see for holidaygoers.
The male victim is believed to be the owner of the winery, while the woman was a 59-year-old friend.
Emergency services rushed the driver, a San Sebastián de La Gomera local, to the hospital where they were treated for a serious hip injury.
A female passenger was also left with serious injuries and air lifted to a hospital in Tenerife.
Locals are being supported by paramedics after reports of anxiety attacks.
Valle de Gran Rey has announced three days of mourning.
The area’s mayor, Borja Barroso said: “We are very sad, shocked and deeply affected; these are very complex times, because it is something that logically one does not expect to ever happen.”
