The psychedelic rock legend, who was best known as frontman of 1960s group Country Joe and the Fish, passed away due to complications from Parkinson’s.

“We are deeply saddened to report the passing of Country Joe McDonald, who died yesterday, March 7th, at the age of 84, in Berkeley, California,” the band wrote.
“He was surrounded by family.”
