CONOR MCGREGOR has responded to Dana White’s apparent axing of his showdown with Michael Chandler.

The Notorious was seemingly set to make his cage comeback against the former three-time Bellator lightweight champion on the ‘s White House card on June 14.

But UFC supremo seemingly pulled the plug on the bout, which Chandler has waited nearly THREE YEARS for, earlier this week.

When asked about the prospect of McGregor vs going down at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, he told Complex : “No, that was a couple of years ago. No.”

The veteran promoter then cast further doubt on the prospect of McGregor ever setting foot inside the octagon again.

He said: “We’ll see if Conor’s going to come back or not. We’ve been talking about it for a while. We’ll see how it plays out.”

It didn’t take long for to get wind of White’s comments about his future, and he took to X to issue a blunt statement.

He wrote: “Pick who ya want! The Mac sweats nothing and nobody. I’m TASTY SHOTS.”

McGregor, 37, hasn’t fought since ; target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>breaking his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier nearly five years ago.

He was set to lock horns with Chandler in June 2024 but withdrew from their Sin City showdown with a broken left pinky toe.

McGregor has earmarked the UFC’s eagerly-anticipated White House card for his long-overdue return.

But the Irishman is currently after violating the UFC’s anti-doping policy.

He was slapped with an 18-month suspension last September for racking up three whereabouts failures within a 12-month period, which equates to a failed test.

McGregor missed scheduled drug tests on June 13, September 19, and September 20, 2024.

Combat Sports Anti-Doping, who over see the UFC’s anti-doping program, were initially set to give him a TWO-YEAR ban.

But they reduced his period of ineligibility to 18 months due to his cooperation with the investigation and the circumstances surrounding his injury.

McGregor’s ban began on September 20, 2024 and is set to end on March 20, 2026.

If the Dubliner ever fights again, his next outing will be his first since he was found civilly liable for assaulting Nikita Hand at a Dublin hotel in 2018.

McGregor , which was turned in by a jury of his peers at Dublin’s High Court in November 2024.

The Supreme Court rejected the star’s bid for a further appeal last month.
