OUTCLASSED Katie Boulter did not have all the time in the world as she was annihilated in 58 minutes – her quickest US Open exit.
Tournament officials must have thought ‘Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off’ before switching Boulter to the Louis Armstrong Stadium – named after the famous jazz trumpeter – when heavy rain fell over New York.

Yet the sudden move from Court 5 to the second-biggest arena may have startled her as she was smashed 6-1 6-0 in the second round by Czech Republic player Karolina Muchova.
It is her worst performance at the Grand Slams – she did not hold her serve at all – and close pal said: “Ah, it’s a tough day. Not a good day at the office. She will want to get off this court quickly.”
In terms of match time, it was quicker than the previous shortest US Open exit of 72 minutes when she went down 6-3 6-2 to Russian Liudmila Samsonova in 2021.
It was a pitiful, embarrassing display by the Brit in which she was broken SEVEN times and outplayed and outsmarted.
In her first Slam match since getting hitched to pro , Boulter did not help her cause by hitting EIGHT double faults across the two sets.
Still, she will be consoled by the £140,000 she has earned for winning one match during her brief time at Flushing Meadows.
Boulter had said the other day she was enjoying spending her days in the trendy SoHo area of Manhattan and she will have more time for sightseeing now.
Her next big assignment will be representing Britain in the Billie Jean King Cup Playoffs in China in a few weeks.
