The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu (NAM), has urged the 3,439 newly trained recruits of the Nigerian Army to maintain the highest standards of loyalty, discipline, and professionalism as they officially join the service.
Colonel Appolonia Anele, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, stated on Saturday that the recruits, who are part of the 89 Regular Intake of the Nigerian Army, have successfully completed six months of rigorous training at the Depot Nigerian Army in Zaria, and were presented during a Passing Out Parade that marks their official induction into the Army.
The COAS described the parade as a reflection of their commitment and perseverance, showcasing the skills, discipline, and camaraderie instilled in them throughout their training.
Lieutenant General Shaibu emphasized that their successful training demonstrates hard work, commitment, and discipline, while also highlighting the Army's role as a professional, combat-ready force.

He underscored the importance of this additional manpower in enhancing national security, noting that the Nigerian Army continues to tackle emerging domestic and transnational threats, and that the new recruits are essential for maintaining operational readiness across the nation.
“Your successful training reflects hard work, dedication, and discipline. You have been shaped to meet the highest standards of soldiering and are now entrusted with the sacred duty of protecting the territorial integrity of our nation. I have confidence that you will meet the challenges ahead and serve with honor, courage, and professionalism,” he stated.
“The Nigerian Army continues to address emerging domestic and transnational security threats. Your induction today not only strengthens our manpower but also reinforces our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of every Nigerian. You are now part of a professional, combat-ready force capable of effectively responding to any threats against our nation,” he added.
