Coalition: ‘No threat against Tinubu’ – Gov Sani reacts as ADA emerges

Published on June 21, 2025 at 05:27 AM

Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has played down any sort of threat against President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

He said that contrary to opinions, the new coalition party seeking registration with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, does not stand a chance to beat President Bola Tinubu.

According to him, the coalition is not a threat and does not suggest that trouble was looming for Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Senator Sani stated this during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, in reaction to the announcement of the National Opposition Coalition Group.

Former Senate President, David Mark is leading the NOCG, which also has the likes of former Vice president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Rivers Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, among others.

“I can tell you today, but go and write it down and remember this day. Asiwaju has no threat,”; Sani said.

“Most of the people speaking today, where were they when we were in the trenches fighting for democracy, for justice, for good governance, for the rule of law? They didn’t know anything about it,”; he added.

Former Kaduna State governor, El-Rufai, recently declared that it would be impossible for President Tinubu to win the 2027 presidential election.

According to El-Rufai, Tinubu and the APC, had failed Nigerians and have nothing to offer, wondering who would vote for such a party which, according to him, had brought untold suffering to the people.
