CHRIS KAMARA received a stunning reception as he proved he hasn’t lost his sense of humour despite his brave battle with speech apraxia.
Kamara, 68, was and has since had to step back from his broadcasting duties that earned him prominence across the nation.

, which often results from a brain injury, causes limited as well as difficult speech ability and affects movement pattern.
But Kammy hasn’t lost his enthusiasm, spirit and humour that made him a national treasure.
And the popular pundit proved it during the Awards where he made a rare appearance on stage.
The legend was asked for a life update and decided to have some fun with the crowd.
The great has been very open about his condition and pretended to be repeating everything he said as a result of a “brain injury”.
joked: “Well as you know, I’ve recently had a brain injury.”
The ex- star jokingly repeated: ” As you know, I’ve recently had a brain injury.”
But Kamara then stated with his signature zest: ” As you know, I’ve recently… But I’m alright now!”
That led to a massive applause from the live audience, while fans watching from home stormed social media to praise the legendary figure.
One supporter tweeted: “National treasure is Kammy.”
Another commented: “Chris Kamara really is the best of us.”
A third wrote: “Absolute legend.”
This fan said: “Hell yeah.”
And that one added: “Absolutely love him.”
Kamara proved that he still holds the same fighting spirit that made him famous on and off the pitch, .
The former midfielder said: “If I’m talking about something I love or am passionate about, my voice quickens.
“When I’m happy, it’s great — but if I’m not then finding the words becomes difficult. But singing is good. You can go with the flow of the music.
“I went on The Masked Singer as part of a magnificent trio with Aled and Russell Watson – Oh, sorry, that should be a magnificent double act … And me!”
