Chelsea are set to confirm Robert Sanchez as their number one goalkeeper for the new 2025/26 season.

According to Rudy Galetti, this comes after Sanchez’s standout Club World Cup performance for the Blues.

Chelsea now no longer plan to sign a new goalkeeper this summer as they are keen to continue with Sanchez.

Sanchez suffered criticism for his displays for Enzo Maresca’s side last season.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper, however, kept a clean sheet as Chelsea won the Club World Cup tournament earlier this month.

Recall that the Premier League west London club are keen to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

Sanchez joined Chelsea from Brighton in 2023 and had spent time on loan at Forest Green Rovers and Rochdale in the past.
