Chelsea Green Stuns Fans with First WWE World Title Victory at SummerSlam!

CHELSEA GREEN shocked the world to secure her first-ever world title in WWE.

The Canadian was the last woman standing in the ladder match at to secure the interim Women’s World Title.

Rhea Ripley, the true champion, is currently out injured and a showdown between Green and Ripley likely awaits to find a definitive Champion.

Charlotte Flair, Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill and Lash Legend were the unlucky ladies who fell short in the match, three of whom have been World Champions before.

But Green never had.

The 35-year-old has been a firm fan favourite in for the past few years, but the company has previously shown very little interest in elevating her to the main event scene.

In fact, long-time WWE producer Michael Hayes said on the documentary series, WWE Unreal, that Green was not meant to be operating at World Title level.

He said: “Chelsea Green is not built for, nor should she be in, the role of Charlotte or Tiffany. Chelsea‘s job is to help make those people.”

Green was offended by the comments on some level, but she also used them as fuel to push forward.

She said on the Nikki and Brie podcast: “Everyone got so upset obviously, about what Michael Hayes said about me. But, like, at the end of the day, that’s also kind of what he was saying.

“Like, was he putting me down a little bit? Yes. Was he maybe putting a ceiling on me? Yes.

“And look, like Michael Hayes has apologised to me and we’ve spoken about it and everything, but at the end of the day, I know that has had my back because he booked me to win the mixed AAA tag title. So, he has believed in me since before Michael Hayes said that.”

And now she has seemingly convinced the powers that be she deserves to be in those top spots.
