told how he had been hooked up to oxygen during the terrifying moment.

She spoke direct to camera and said: “Thank god this little angel turned himself around this morning.

“He couldn’t even breathe last night. He’s been off oxygen now for about two hours.

“He is on his inhalers every two hours. His oxygen kept dropping, that’s why. Oh, what a day, guys.

“So he was literally in the night last night just coughing his guts up, and it was awful.

“He usually always sleeps in his own bed, in his own cot, he’s amazing at sleeping – but last night, I kept bringing him into me because he was just kept screaming for me.

“So I brought him in the room, and then he was going, ‘mummy, mummy, I can’t breathe. I can’t lie down. My chest hurts’.

“He finally went to sleep and woke up at 6am, and I just knew, I just thought, ‘I’m gonna have to ring 111’.

“So thank God they sent an ambulance and they blue-lighted him straight up”.

Charlotte then continued to document his health struggles and added: “His oxygen levels were so low and he was so grey and so white, his colour.

“And then we got up here, we were really worried about him. He was on oxygen. Been on oxygen all day.

“Literally, as soon as he gets to hospital he just gets it just gets so much better. Thank God. It’s just so scary.

, which stands for Respiratory Syncytial Virus, often starts off looking like a harmless – but in certain people it can quickly escalate into something far more serious – and in some cases, can be fatal.

It infects around 90 per cent of children within the first few years of their life and typically causes mild symptoms such as a , sneezing and coughing.

Symptoms of RSV

PEOPLE commonly show symptoms of the virus four to six days after being infected.

Signs include:

  • Runny nose
  • Decrease in appetite
  • Coughing
  • Sneezing
  • Fever
  • Wheezing

But symptoms can be much more subtle in very young babies, including irritability, decreased activity and breathing difficulties.

Most children will have had an RSV infection by their second birthday.

It can cause a condition called bronchiolitis in babies and young children.

Symptoms of bronchiolitis in very young infants include:

  1. Refusal to breastfeed or bottle-feed
  2. Breathing more quickly and noisily (wheezing)
  3. Seeming very tired, upset or inactive
  4. Signs of dehydration – lack of tears when crying, little or no urine in their nappy for six hours, and cool, dry skin

RSV usually gets better by itself within a week or two and can be treated at home, in the same way you would treat a common cold.

But it can sometimes lead to severe lung infections like and – conditions which are particularly dangerous for older people and young children.

Thankfully, Charlotte’s middle child appears to be on the road to recovery.

She continued in another Instagram Stories clip: “But I’m in the right place.

“I’m glad I’m staying tonight, because, to be honest, if I got home and he got worse again, there’s just… there’s just no point.

“At least I’m in the right place”.

On a happier note, she then shared a clip showing the pair enjoying toast in the hospital bed.

The adorable mother-son duo then chanted: “We love butter, we love toast”.

Charlotte said: “That’s yummy.

“This is a lot better night than last night,” before she asked Jude: “You’re getting better aren’t you?”

He then replied: “I’m getting better”

They were then seen fooling around with Instagram filters as they passed the time in the ward before hopefully being sent home.
