The Jigawa State Government has approved an increase in the monthly allowances of ward heads (Maiunguwa) from ₦3,000 to ₦10,000
The approval was contained in a State Executive Council resolution presided over by Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi.
According to the statement, “the Council has approved the increment of Jigawa State ward heads (Maiunguwa) allowances from N3000 to 10,000”
The development reflects what the government described as the administration’s commitment to supporting traditional institutions and recognizing the vital role played by ward heads at the grassroots level.
Governor Namadi explained that the inclusive approach of his administration ensures that no group is left behind in the effort to build a greater Jigawa State.
He emphasized that ward heads serve as the foot soldiers of the traditional institution, providing leadership at the grassroots and helping implement government directives for the development and well-being of their communities.
