Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, Gbenga Elegbeleye is rooting for the home-based Super Eagles to get their campaign back on track at the 2024 African Nations Championship with a win over Sudan.

Elegbeleye believes the Eagles were unlucky to lose their first game against defending champions Senegal.

“I’m very hopeful, if you read my statement before that game, I backed them to bounce back. I’m confident they will beat Sudan, and move on from there,” Elegbeleye stated.

Nigeria and Sudan will do battle in the Group D encounter at the Amman Stadium, Zanzibar on Tuesday night. Kick-off is 6pm Nigerian time.

The Home Eagles are under pressure to avoid defeat in the game which will see them exit the competition at the group stage.

Sudan played out a 1-1 draw with Congo Brazzaville in their first game.
