As the visitors moved 18-14 ahead on the scoreboard, the camera man went in for a close up, but appeared to trip over and end up on the deck.
Kyle Feldt was quick to react and offered a hand to the operator as he lifted him back to his feet.
Incredibly, the camera man took it all in his stride and continued to capture the action in a moment of great professionalism.
St Helens went on to win the game 24-14 in what proved a significant win.
The result put them into top spot in the with six wins and two defeats from eight outings.
Warrington Wolves are tucked behind St Helens in second spot in the early standings.
They’ve only played six matches and trail the table toppers by two points.
Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors and Wakefield Trinity also have 10 points after seven matches so far.
Reacting to going top and the win over Hull, boss Paul Rowley said: “We’re delighted with it without getting carried away.
“It’s a tribute to the lads and the exciting bit is, and it won’t just happen that we’ll get players back and we’ll automatically go to a different level.
“We’re aware that takes hard work and new players coming back in will have to find their feet, so to speak, and come into a way that’s probably changed a little bit how we play.
“There’s still loads of hard work, but the exciting bit is there’s definitely another level to go to, and fresh bodies and competition more than anything.
“The lads who are coming in aren’t necessarily going to be ‘right, you’re out, you’re in’.
“It’s going to provide competition, intensity to training, and all those contributing factors should, and hopefully will, contribute to us improving and performing better when it matters.”
