Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has said the All Progressives Congress, APC, the African Democratic Congress, ADC, the Labour Party, LP and all other political parties in the country cannot win any election in the state any longer.

The Governor made the remarks on Monday, during the presentation of flag to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for the forthcoming bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Fola Oyekunle.

Our correspondent reports that the event was held at the Bodija international market in Ibadan, the state capital.

The election is billed to take place on Saturday, 16th August this year, in twelve electoral wards that make up the federal constituency.

Makinde noted that none of the existing political parties in the country such as APC, ADC or LP can win elections in the state.

He told the gathering that only the PDP has the capacity to win elections in the state.

He called on the people to prove a point that the state belongs to PDP.

Makinde maintained that he does not have any godfather, describing the people as his godfather.

“Let me tell you that this forthcoming election is very important because we all need to prove a point that Oyo State is a PDP State.

“So, henceforth, when you go about campaigning from ward to ward; house to house, and some people are saying there is another party that can win apart from the PDP, please tell them it won’t happen in Oyo State”.
