BRITAIN’S military base on Gibraltar faces inspections from Spanish officers under a new post-Brexit rule.

The cops, working on behalf of the , will have the right to board our warships and inspect planes.

The move is all part of a “special procedure” to maintain the single market.

But opponents will see it as a major giveaway on sovereignty.

Mark Francois, shadow Defence Minister said: “We would never contemplate sharing sovereignty over RAF Lossiemouth.

“It is where we base our Typhoon interceptors.

“Or RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, or indeed RAF Mount Pleasant, in the Falklands.

“So why on earth should we share control of this vital airfield with Spain?”
