FORMER Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan has taken Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo under his wing.

The pair have grown closer over the last six months, with Gyan regularly watching Semenyo’s clips and videos to give him feedback and serve as an elder brother to the red-hot Bournemouth striker.
SunSport can reveal that Gyan has been keen to advise him not to rush his next move, as he believes Semenyo has what it takes to play at the very top of the Premier League – but a careful approach is key to joining the right club.
SunSport can also reveal that, like most current Ghanaian players, Semenyo idolised Gyan and sees him as the perfect role model. Gyan still holds the record as Africa’s highest goal scorer at the World Cup.
And with Semenyo linked to the likes of the former striker is keen to help him make the right decision when it comes to his next move.

This season, Semenyo has taken his game to the next level, only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has scored more goals than the 25-year-old Bournemouth star.
And despite signing a new deal with the Cherries last summer, SunSport understands that it will not deter the big clubs circling for him next summer.
It’s understood that his new deal was primarily to increase his wages and raise his market value, with the club protecting their asset but an offer that meets their valuation will still be considered.
A source close to Semenyo said he’s very happy to have someone like Gyan in his inner circle, and that the former striker’s experience is helping him control his temper and confidence, both key factors in his strong start to the season.
Bournemouth have surprised many this season, and their 2–0 win over Nottingham Forest has taken them to second in the league table.
Andoni Iraola’s side are firmly in the mix for European , even if it’s still early in the campaign.
