In horrifying video footage, the bouncy castle was seen flying away in the wind.
The rainbow-coloured inflatable floating above houses and an open field in the Savannakhet province in Laos.
Flying an estimated 30ft from the ground, the windy conditions left witnesses screaming.
Terrified visitors can be heard shrieking in terror in the back of the video, fleeing the scene of the ordeal.
Later investigations found that had not been secured correctly.
The freak gust ripped through the fairground at 4pm on Thursday, taking the bouncy castle off into the wind.
There were no children inside the castle when it took flight, however two children were injured when it plunged back to the ground.
Local media spoke to Tengmo – a mother of one of the children at the festival – who said she was thankful her child had not gone on the attraction.
“I was lucky that my daughter didn’t go on the slide,” she said.
“She wanted to but it was so hot I didn’t allow her.
“Who knows what might have happened if she had.”
The condition of the two injured children is unknown.

Kids’ screams were heard in the footage of the bouncy house coming loose from the ground before flipping upside down in front of horrified parents.
It quickly came to a rough stop when it crashed into a children’s playground.
Footage shows it flailing in the wind after being caught on top of a climbing frame as desperate parents and carers rush to save the children.
Debris from the scene was left soaring through the Zion district in the Russian city of Ufa for some time as the gale force winds continued to blow.
Several victims were treated at the scene after the accident.
