Body found in woodland in search for missing woman, 63, who was last seen leaving her home four days ago

A BODY has been found in woodland amid the search for a missing woman.

Julie Foster, 63, vanished four days ago and was last seen leaving her home on Victoria Road in Padiham, Lancashire.

She was said to be heading towards Shakespeare Street in Padiham, Lancashire.

A police spokesperson said: “Many of you will have seen our appeals for missing Julie over the last few days.

“Unfortunately, we have a really sad update to bring you today.

“Shortly before 3pm today, our officers searching for Julie found the body of a woman in some woodland off Burnley Road in Padiham.

“The body has now been confirmed to be that of Julie. Her death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be passed to the coroner in due course.

“Julie’s loved ones have been informed and are being supported. Our thoughts are very much with them at this devastating time.

“This isn’t the update we were hoping to bring you, but we know a lot of you will have seen the appeals over the last few days, so it was important for us to let you know.
