Tragedy as binman in his 20s killed in crash ‘involving team’s refuse lorry’ with witnesses urged to come forward

A BINMAN in his twenties has died after a crash involving his own team’s lorry, cops have said.

Emergency services raced to the scene in Torquay, , shortly before 1pm on Tuesday.

A white bin lorry and a member of crew are reported to have been involved in the incident.

A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been made aware and The Health and Safety Executive informed.

Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses with any further information into the incident.

Anyone with dashcam footage or information which may assist the investigation should contact police online or by calling 101 quoting log 330 of 27May 2025.
