President Bola Tinubu on Monday, sympathized with the people of Benue State following the series of killings in the state.

Tinubu urged the leaders of the state to ensure the maintenance of peace and harmony in the state.

He spoke during the commissioning of the Greater Abuja Water Supply Network.

According to Tinubu: “I sympathize with the Benue people. I have spoken to the governor; the leadership and the people of Benue should accept our condolences and try hard, very consciously, to maintain peace and harmony among themselves.”;

In the last few days, Benue has become a flash point of killings with armed herders attacks.

The herders first attacked Yelewata in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, killing about 200 people.

Last night, these herders launched another deadly attack on Tse Yange, a Tiv-dominated community in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
