According to the Israeli research group Palestinian Media Watch, Al-Rub was imprisoned for his involvement in the 2006 Kedumim attack.

His sister, Aida, was introduced by the BBC Middle East correspondent with the statement: "Aida has awaited her brother Murad's release from Israeli prison for 20 years."

In tears, Aida expressed: "I don’t know what he looks like."

Williamson then stated: "Dozens of prisoners emerged from Red Cross buses as fathers, brothers, and sons—celebrated as national heroes. However, Murad was not among them."

The one-minute clip then shifted to Aida weeping: "They kidnapped my brother."

Williamson concluded: "By comparing three different lists, we discovered that Murad’s name, previously scheduled for release, was moved to a list of deportees yesterday."

The same clip was shared on the BBC page with the caption: "Families awaited the release of detainees in the occupied West Bank on Monday, as part of the Gaza ceasefire.

“We met Aida Abu Rob, who was waiting for her brother Murad, sentenced to four life sentences in 2006.”
