Tragedy struck on Saturday night when armed bandits invaded Gobirawa community in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing several residents, injuring many others, and abducting an unspecified number of villagers.
According to a post shared on Sunday by Katsina-based security analyst, Bakatsine, on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the attackers stormed the village under the cover of darkness.
“Last night, bandits invaded Gobirawa community in Dutsin-Ma LGA, Katsina State. They killed multiple people, injured several others (now hospitalized), kidnapped residents and set many shops ablaze during the invasion,”;; Bakatsine wrote.
The exact number of casualties remains unclear. As of the time of filing this report, authorities in Katsina State were yet to issue an official statement.
