Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has assured the people of Delta State of his full backing to strengthen the party’s chances in the 2027 general elections.

Mohammed gave the assurance when a delegation from Delta paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Bauchi.

According to a statement by Bauchi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Usman Shehu Usman, the team was led by elder statesmen, Edwin Olley and Dr. Michael Tidi, immediate past Chairman of the Warri South Local Government.

The governor described the duo as committed founding members of the PDP in Delta who have contributed significantly to the party’s growth and electoral victories over the years.

He commended their steadfastness, noting they had resisted the wave of political defections to remain loyal to the “house they built.”

Mohammed reaffirmed that the PDP remains the most formidable and focused party in meeting Nigeria’s democratic ideals and pledged to continue identifying with loyal members nationwide.

In their remarks, Olley and Tidi hailed Mohammed’s leadership as Forum Chairman, describing him as a rallying point for the PDP’s unity and direction.

They sought his support to reposition the Delta chapter following the defection of their state governor, stressing that Delta has remained a PDP stronghold since the return of democracy.
