ARSENAL are already dynamite from set-pieces – but a new recruit is set to take things up ANOTHER level.

No team has scored more than the 14 goals the Gunners have notched from set-pieces this campaign.

And the five they’ve let in also ranks them among the best teams at defending set plays.

But halfway through a season in which throw-ins have become all the rage, manager Mikel Arteta has sought to capitalise on another dead-ball opportunity.

According to The Times , the Gunners are working with throw-in coach Thomas Gronnemark on a consultancy basis.

The Dane, 50, was once a professional footballer and, in 2010, set the world record for the longest throw-in.

He spent five years on Jurgen Klopp’s backroom staff at , helping them to a Champions League win in his first season and a Premier League triumph the year afterwards.

Gronnemark has also provided his expertise to the likes of , Borussia Dortmund and Ajax across two decades as a throw-in pioneer.

Now it’s Arsenal who could benefit as they chase down a first league title under Arteta.

Set-piece coach Nicolas Jover has been a game-changer for the North London club, and with Gronnemark also on board, opponents risked being peppered from all angles.

Klopp said that Gronnemark “changed Liverpool’s throw-in game completely”, with the length of Andy Robertson’s launches going through the roof.

Speaking in an interview last month, Gronnemark said that Liverpool are “always welcome to call him” unless he is working for a direct rival.

Current Reds boss Arne Slot appears to have missed his chance, allowing Arsenal to pounce.

The Gunners will continue their Premier League push at next weekend.
