ARNE SLOT acknowledges that Liverpool has become uninspiring.
The reigning Premier League champions are set to face league leaders Arsenal tomorrow [Thursday], aiming to inject some much-needed excitement into a lackluster season that risks turning into a calamity.

After enjoying 'heavy metal football' under Jurgen Klopp, fans have turned against Slot’s squad, which currently sits 14 points behind Arsenal, despite a summer expenditure of £450 million on new players.
The Reds remain unbeaten in nine matches but have drawn their last two games against Leeds and Fulham.
Now, Slot has practically dismissed their title aspirations, admitting that the cups present their best chance for success.
When asked about Liverpool supporters criticizing his football as dull and boring, Slot responded: “It's hard to accept, but I can't say I completely disagree.
“I might choose different words and consider certain factors.
“I aim to win as many trophies as possible, but I’m also recognized for my teams attempting to play attacking football.
“I can only say that we are still striving for that. However, having a lot of possession doesn’t equate to playing an attacking style.
“As I’ve mentioned multiple times, we’re not the only team struggling to create numerous chances.
“I don’t believe the number of chances we generate is significantly different from other teams in the league that are performing well.
“Nevertheless, I dislike hearing this because my wish is for us to win many matches.
“But I also want us to play an appealing style of football, which I believe we have done this season.
“We need to find solutions against teams that aim to make the game less attractive.
“We must discover answers to that, which we haven't found enough yet.”
Last season, Slot struck the right balance by adjusting Klopp’s playing style to win the title comfortably.
This season, Liverpool has been slightly more pragmatic without being overly dull, yet some fans find their performances unengaging.
Hugo Ekitike is among the few summer signings who has made an impact, but he missed the match against Fulham and is expected to remain sidelined due to a hamstring injury.
Slot is frustrated that Liverpool's best performances have come against stronger teams, including Arsenal, whom they defeated 1-0 in August.
Liverpool has several challenging matches ahead
Liverpool will face Barnsley in the FA Cup third round on Monday, while they currently sit ninth in the Champions League group phase. They could secure a top-eight finish and avoid a February playoff for the last 16.
Recognizing that the team's trophy aspirations might lie outside the Premier League, Slot stated: “This club has repeatedly demonstrated that even when it isn't in the best league form, it can still win other trophies.
“It's always possible because we have a very good and talented squad.
“We’ve proven this season, against Inter, Real Madrid at home, Atletico Madrid at home, Aston Villa, and Arsenal, that we can compete with nearly every team.”
When asked about Arsenal, Slot remarked: “They have very few weaknesses, so they seldom concede goals.
“They can score from open play or set-pieces, have excellent build-up strategies, and can execute long passes; they possess the complete package.
“For this reason, in my view, they deserve to be at the top this season.”
