A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ayekooto Akindele, has dismissed claims by the African Democratic Congress, ADC, alleging a plot by the Federal Government to clamp down on the opposition party.
According to DAILY POST, ADC, recently adopted by opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections, had in a statement issued by its interim National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, accused the Bola Tinubu-led administration of planning to undermine the party.
Reacting to the allegation, Ayekooto, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), questioned why ADC continually points fingers at the APC-led government.
In his words, “We in the APC, whenever we respond to the mushroom ADC, our haters say ‘APC is panicking’.
“But we all know who is afraid of its own shadows, they’re not yet a party, yet, they’re always pointing fingers at APC, the same thing they did when they were in PDP.
“We will continue to use them to catch cruises before their eventual demise.”;
The APC stalwart’s remarks come amid rising political tensions and alignments ahead of the next electoral cycle.
