The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kebbi State has suspended Kabiru Labbo Jega, a senior party member, over allegations of instigating violence and unrest in Jega town.

The suspension, contained in a letter dated January 26 and signed by the party’s Zonal Vice Chairman for Kebbi Central, Abubakar Bello Matawalle Bunza, comes barely one month after the party suspended the Chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government and ALGON chairman, Dahiru Nayaya Ambursa.

According to the letter, Jega, who serves as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Community and Rural Development, was accused of actions capable of disrupting peace and unity within the party in his constituency.

The party alleged that he instigated violence among APC members, creating tension and confusion in Jega.

Following a review of the allegations, the APC said its executive committee concluded that Jega’s conduct posed a threat to internal cohesion and discipline within the party.

“As a result, you are hereby suspended from membership and all party activities with immediate effect,” the letter stated.

The party further warned Jega against engaging in any APC-related activities during the suspension period, noting that any violation could attract stiffer disciplinary measures, including possible expulsion.
