APC's Renewed Hope: A Source of Disillusionment for Nigerians, Says ADC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged Nigerians to remain resilient despite the challenges imposed by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government.

In his New Year message to the nation, the National Chairman of the party, David Mark, stated that 2025 was undoubtedly a challenging year for many Nigerians.

He expressed that instead of the renewed hope promised by the APC government, citizens have faced increased misery and widespread hardship as they struggle with the rising cost of living.

He noted that food, essential medications, and transportation have become unaffordable for most people due to the government's misguided policies, which have pushed more individuals into multidimensional poverty.

Mark lamented that rather than offering hope in the new year, the APC government has opted to impose harsh taxes that are likely to exacerbate the suffering of citizens already burdened by the cost of living crisis, emphasizing that these taxes will lead to despair rather than renewal of hope.

“Nigeria must not fail. It must rise again. Fellow Nigerians, we understand your fatigue. You have every reason to feel this way, but you cannot afford to lose hope now because this country belongs to all of us.

“They want you to stop believing. They want you to refrain from voting.

“However, if we unite—not with violence, but with vision; not with anger, but with courage—then 2026 can be the year we begin to reclaim our country, the year when the underprivileged can finally breathe again,” he said.
