The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the ongoing collection of the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) in Anambra State until November 2, to allow eligible voters to collect their cards.
Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, the Director of Voter Education and Publicity in the state, announced this in a statement on Monday in Awka.
“INEC has approved the extension of the ongoing PVC collection in Anambra from October 29 to November 2.
“This decision was made during a commission meeting on October 27, following numerous requests from citizens and stakeholders for additional time to enable eligible voters to collect their cards,” she explained.
Eta-Messi urged registered voters who have not yet collected their PVCs to take advantage of this opportunity at the designated collection centers across the 326 Registration Areas (Wards) in the state.
She added that this initiative includes individuals who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in the state.
The Director also emphasized that the collection of PVCs must be done in person, as no proxy collection will be permitted.
According to DAILY POST, the state governorship election is scheduled for November 8.
