Anambra Governorship Election: EFCC Nabs Three Alleged Vote Buyers

No fewer than three individuals suspected of vote buying have been apprehended by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) during the ongoing governorship election in Anambra State.

The suspects were detained at various locations while voting was still taking place.

According to the anti-corruption agency, one Emeka Ilokasia was arrested at Ward 2, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.

Likewise, Nwachuwu Loretta was taken into custody at Ward 2 (008), Awkuzu, Oyi LGA, while Emuka Chuwudi was apprehended in Umunachi village within Dukonukofia LGA.

“All the suspects were arrested while engaging in the governorship election held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
“They will face charges in court once the investigations are completed,” the EFCC stated on its official Facebook page.
