IT’S a relatively new tradition here in the UK.
But pumpkin patches have long been a past time Stateside – so they know how to do it well.

So when it came to finding one close to her that reminded her of spooky season back home in Boston, former pro Alex Murphy didn’t hold out much hope.
Until she visited Cammas Hall Farm – just 43 minutes from London.
“I think I’ve just stumbled upon the best place to pick pumpkins in all the UK,” she began a video on her TikTok page.
“And this place does not get enough credit because I feel like I’ve transported all the way back to America.
“And as an American living in the UK, I have never seen anything like this here in Britain.”
Calling the Essex pumpkin patch “the best Halloween experience for all ages”, Alex went on to offer a tour in the TikTok video.
“It’s got over 30,000 pumpkins and squashes on display,” she continued.
“There’s live performers, great food, entertainment and hospitality, and 72 different varieties of pumpkins.”
There’s also a 36-metre long pumpkin mosaic, and the “world’s only erupting Pumpcano”.
It’s also the perfect place to grab Instagram photos, especially as it’s colour coded.
Alex added that there was a huge amount ofon offer – including pizza, burgers and pumpkin-themed hot chocolates.
After grabbing a bite and picking their pumpkins, Alex and husband Paul Klein, aka one half of YouTuber duo Woody & Kleiny, had a look around the farm shop, before heading inside the haunted house.
“After a few drinks, this would horrify me,” she laughed.
“There’s a section for the kids and also a section for adults and let me tell you I was a little bit scared.”
“How did I not know about this place!?!?” Alex captioned her TikTok.
“@cammashall is now my forever fall spot.
Why is everyone obsessed with Pumpkin Spice?
Pumpkin spice has become a cultural phenomenon, a staple flavour and scent as autumn begins.
No surprise, it originated from America, referencing the pumpkin spice mix used to flavour Thanksgiving’s pumpkin pie.
Matt Johnson, PhD explained the psychology behind our obsession with pumpkin spice. He said: “With each passing fall season, pumpkin spice becomes more and more iconic.
“The flavour and scent [have] become inextricably tied to memories of autumn, Christmas holidays and traditions, creating an emotional connection that brands capitalise on.”
The professor explained how the general flavour or pumpkin spice is “rooted in the seasonal foods we typically enjoy during autumn”, and has become so iconic, it returns bigger and better every year.
Not only does it impact food and drinks, but autumnal interior design has exploded over the past few years, and households actively decorate their houses with seasonal displays.
“Literally cannot get over how amazing this place is – I’m going back next week!”
The comments section was immediately filled with people weighing in, with the majority saying they were going to try it out for themselves.
“Just took my family yesterday, deffo my fave so far!” one wrote.
“This is absolutely amazing, I would love to go soon!” another said.
“As a true American I accept your !” a third commented.
