The new series revives the original format of American Gladiators as a Prime original .
It keeps the same head-to-head structure, built around strength, speed and endurance.
The classic challenges like Joust, Powerball, Hang Tough and The Wall all return, forming the backbone of the competition.
Alongside them, a couple of new additions have been introduced to keep things fresh.
Events like The Ring and Collision aim to expand the format without moving too far from what viewers know and love.
The UK version of has already found a strong audience, but fans of the original American series can expect that same sense of scale and energy to return.
The arena now features 16 new Gladiators, eight women and eight men, and the same one-on-one intensity.
When is American Gladiators released?
The first three episodes are due to land on April 17, 2026, so there’s not long to wait.
A second batch of three episodes then follows on April 24, with the final four arriving on May 1.
It keeps momentum up across three weeks, rather than stretching the series over a longer run, which fits the fast-paced nature of the format.
Where can you watch American Gladiators?
The series will be available exclusively on Prime Video for UK viewers.

Who hosts the new series?
Professional wrestler and TV personality, Mike Mizanin, leads the show as host, bringing a more modern, performance-led presence.
He’s joined by Rocsi Diaz on the sidelines and Chris Rose handling play-by-play commentary.
