ALAN Carr has ‘entered the race’ to take over from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman on Strictly Come Dancing after winning Celebrity Traitors.

Now it’s reported he’s being eyed up for one of the biggest jobs on telly, after , 56, and , 53, announced .
An insider told the Mirror Alan is “being considered” for the huge role, saying: “He has got to be up there with the BBC to get a huge new role… Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, Strictly.”
And a BBC insider added: “Alan has always been a star – but it’s amazing what a month in a Scottish castle can do to elevate your career. He’s ours now.”
Last night Alan was overcome with emotion as he confessed his guilt over being a Traitor.
He sobbed to fellow finalists and : “I’m so sorry, it’s been tearing me apart, I’m so sorry.”
After their initial shock faded, Nick and David were quick to rush to his side and console him, as Alan held their hands and hugged them.
“You did brilliantly, Alan!” David told him. “It’s a game!”
“You did absolutely brilliantly,” Nick seconded. “It was amazing.”
Still crying, Alan told them: “I feel so bad.”
Eager to reassure him, Nick responded: “Don’t be stupid, think about the charity, it’s amazing.”
Alan revealed his £87,500 prize money will go to children’s charity Neuroblastoma UK.
Last month became for the Strictly job.
Speaking on her Dig It podcast, she said: “I think everyone would like to do that job.
“It’s an amazing job. It’s the best Saturday night show.”
