Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has been appointed as the main assistant captain of the Super Eagles, according to DAILY POST.

Osimhen will serve as the deputy to the new captain, Wilfred Ndidi, and he has also been designated as the Super Eagles' new penalty taker.

The Super Eagles have undergone a leadership restructuring following the retirement of the former captain, William Troost-Ekong.

Troost-Ekong had also been the team's designated penalty taker prior to his retirement.

Ndidi was officially announced as the new team leader last week.

Alex Iwobi and Moses Simon are the other two most senior players in the Super Eagles, having been part of the team for nearly a decade.

Currently, Iwobi holds the record for the most caps in the team, followed closely by Simon.
