The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has disowned the inauguration of diaspora leadership structures reportedly set up in different parts of the world.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the party’s National Coordinator for Diasporan Affairs, Barrister Solomon Dalung, said his office had not authorized nor endorsed the creation of such structures.

“It has come to the attention of the National Coordinator for Diasporan Affairs of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Barrister Solomon Dalung, that certain individuals and groups are inaugurating leadership structures for the ADC Diasporan community across different parts of the world.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to categorically state that my office has not authorized nor endorsed the creation of such leadership structures. Accordingly, such activities should be disregarded,” parts of the statement read.

Dalung urged party members and the public to disregard the activities, stressing that a legitimate framework would be established after due consultations and proper procedures.

Dalung added that the Office of the National Coordinator would, in due course, unveil an inclusive and properly constituted leadership structure to coordinate the party’s diaspora chapters.

He appealed for patience and understanding while the process is concluded.
