The former Governor of Kaduna State and a leading figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has announced that the party is in the process of creating a code of ethics for its leaders and candidates in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

During a press conference on Saturday in Gusau, El-Rufai emphasized that the ADC is dedicated to fostering meaningful change in Nigeria.

He accused the current administration under President Bola Tinubu of being deceitful, corrupt, and lacking sincerity.

El-Rufai noted that the ADC’s constitution is distinctive among Nigerian political parties as it encompasses a vision for ethical leadership.

“The party’s leadership is actively developing a code of ethics that every leader and elected official will be required to sign. This will ensure that ADC members prioritize good governance, refrain from misusing public funds, and reject bribery and corruption,” he stated.

He also mentioned that only trustworthy and honest individuals will be appointed if the ADC comes to power, highlighting that 40 percent of the positions will be allocated to the youth.

El-Rufai cautioned supporters to be vigilant against impostors attempting to sow discord within the party, stating, “The APC will not let you leave easily; exercise caution.”

Additionally, the ADC conducted a stakeholders’ meeting in Zamfara, organized by the party’s deputy national organizing secretary, aimed at reinforcing unity among members and encouraging them to register and obtain their voter cards.
