Abia Warriors risk NPFL ban on poor stadium facilities

The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL has deemed the Umuahia Township Stadium, Umuahia unfit and fall short of acceptable television standard to host games.

The NPFL stated that the ground lack proper maintenance.

The stadium is the home ground of NPFL side, Abia Warriors.

The league body have directed the club to take immediate steps to improve the playing surface, install standard floodlights & a conducive dressing room.

The NPFL warned that if measures are not taken the Umuahia-based club will be moved to an alternative ground.

DAILY POST recalls that Abia Warriors defeated Kano Pillars 1-0 in their opening fixture on the same ground last Sunday.
