Jigawa Govt declares Wednesday work-free to mark 34th anniversary

The Jigawa State Government has declared Wednesday, August 27, 2025, as a work-free day to commemorate the 34th anniversary of the creation of the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by the State Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, and made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday by the Public Relations Officer, Office of the Head of Service, Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse.

The government felicitated with the people of Jigawa and urged them to use the occasion to pray for the state and Nigeria at large.

According to the statement, “It is hoped that all public servants and the entire people of the state will utilise the one-day break in thanking the Almighty Allah for His blessings and for the peaceful coexistence being enjoyed.”

Jigawa was created out of the old Kano State on August 27,1991, by former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
