Abia Rep Amobi Ogah Calls for Prosecution of Onyejeocha Over Alleged Forged Election Results

The representative for the Isuikwuato/Umunnochi Federal Constituency of Abia State, Amobi Ogah, has addressed the lawsuit he initiated, which seeks the prosecution of the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the alleged forgery of election results in 2023.

In a statement released to journalists on Saturday, Ogah emphasized that he is not pursuing this matter out of self-interest but is committed to preventing electoral offenses.

He clarified that the lawsuit, FHC/ABJ/CS/1308/2025, filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja, aims to ensure that electoral violations do not take place again before and during the 2027 elections.

The lawmaker stated that he intends to follow through with the court order that mandates INEC to investigate and prosecute the Minister of State for Labour, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, regarding the alleged forgery of election results in the constituency in 2023.

Conversely, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has indicated that she remains unfazed by this situation, asserting that her primary focus is to assist President Bola Tinubu in fulfilling his Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigerians.

In a statement provided to journalists in Umuahia on Friday, Onyejeocha remarked that Amobi Ogah failed to substantiate the alleged forgery during the tribunal proceedings.

“The witness from Amobi's legal team at INEC Umuahia, during cross-examination, confirmed that the results presented by my legal team were certified by INEC and that she signed them,” she stated.

The minister also mentioned that she is “not a party to the order and will not participate in the main motion on notice to be filed, where INEC will defend the lawsuit brought against her by Amobi Ogah.”
