Ding Xi An is a determined and stubborn girl who moves from a small town to the big city for high school. She’s not naturally gifted like Si Yue, but she works hard and never gives up. At first, they’re reluctant desk-mates who don’t get along well. Ding Xi An finds Si Yue annoying, and Si Yue sees her as a bit of a challenge. But over time, as they help each other with school and life, their feelings change from irritation to friendship and to something much deeper.
The drama shows their high school years with all the stress of exams, the excitement of being young, and the friendships that grow along the way. After graduation, they both end up at the same university, and their relationship matures. They face new problems, including family struggles and the uncertainty of what the future holds.
