Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, has asserted that neither the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, nor Governor Siminalayi Fubara can secure Rivers State for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections without electoral manipulation.
Fayose made this statement in a video posted on his Facebook page on Saturday while discussing the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State.
He stated that both Wike and Fubara do not possess the grassroots support necessary to secure a victory for the APC in a fair election.
“Let’s not deceive ourselves. Neither Wike nor Fubara can win the Rivers election for the APC or Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 without rigging. The only entity that can secure Rivers State for Tinubu is INEC and the Police, not Fubara and not Wike,” he remarked.
Fayose further claimed that the political conflict between the former governor and his successor does not serve the interests of Rivers residents but is instead fueled by a competition for control over the state's resources.
He alleged that Governor Fubara has amassed considerable savings, which he suggested is a significant factor in the conflict between the two political figures.
Fayose also contended that the presence of the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on the ballot in 2027 would diminish the APC's chances in Rivers State.
He dismissed recent political tours and outreach initiatives by the opposing factions, labeling them as ineffective and lacking adequate voter support.
