Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has stated that ensuring President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 should be a collective goal for all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) throughout the state.

The governor made this announcement while addressing party leaders at the APC’s quarterly stakeholders’ meeting, where he urged members to unite as political activities gradually ramp up in anticipation of upcoming elections.

Aiyedatiwa emphasized the significance of solidarity within the party, warning against internal divisions caused by personal ambitions or conflicting interests.

“We must work together to secure Ondo State for President Tinubu in 2027,” the governor remarked, adding that party unity is crucial for achieving this objective.

He cautioned members against behaviors that could undermine party leadership or fellow members, even while supporting their preferred candidates, noting that internal strife could dilute the APC’s chances in the elections.

The governor clarified that the quarterly stakeholders’ meeting aimed to foster engagement, feedback, and collaboration within the party, as well as to assess political and developmental progress in the state.

Highlighting the accomplishments of his administration, Aiyedatiwa mentioned that efforts in the health sector have been intensified, with numerous facilities undergoing renovations and standby ambulances being made available across local government areas.

He also noted that ongoing development projects are intentionally distributed across all local councils to encourage balanced growth throughout the state.

The governor further revealed that the Federal Government had approved the revalidation of Ondo State’s deep seaport license, explaining that the initial registration contained errors that did not accurately represent the state’s identity.

Earlier, the APC Chairman in Ondo State, Ade Adetimehin, represented by the party’s Vice Chairman, Atili Agabra, stated that the meeting offered an opportunity for party members to engage directly with the governor.

He praised the state government for employing youth across various ministries, departments, and agencies, describing the administration’s engagement with different party organs as unprecedented.

Additionally, the APC National Vice Chairman (South-West), Isaac Kekemeke, reaffirmed that Aiyedatiwa remains the party’s leader in Ondo State.

While recognizing the presence of other influential party figures, Kekemeke stated that the governor is the main mobilizer for President Tinubu’s second-term aspirations in the state.

He added that the President has confidence in APC governors nationwide, describing Aiyedatiwa as a dedicated loyalist and a key campaign figure for Tinubu in Ondo.

Kekemeke noted that most criticisms of the government are arising from within the party, observing that opposition parties such as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party no longer pose significant threats in the state.

He urged the governor to continue accommodating diverse interests within the APC and to lead efforts in preserving unity as future political contests approach.
