An ace Nigerian entertainer, Charly Boy, has issued a stern warning to politicians against manipulating the outcome of the 2027 general election.

Charly Boy issued this warning in an interview with Rudolf Okonkwo on 90MinutesAfrica, saying the next nationwide poll would be a defining moment for the country.

The septuagenarian who is popularly known as Area Fada, added that the slogan for the next election is “rig and die”.

“The 2027 election will be a defining moment for Nigeria. Anybody that plans to rig should be ready to die. It is rig and die.

“Because by that time, our eye go clear well well. E don clear small o. What we are about to see in 2026 will make Nigerians decide whether to continue in this manner or to cause a revolution to happen in this country,” he said.

The entertainer further stated that ensuring credible elections is the only way to address bad governance.

“The solution to bad governance in Nigeria can only come when our votes begin to count. So, our concern right now should be how our votes would count in 2027,” he added.

Weighing in on the Lagos state government’s recent decision to rename the ‘Charly Boy Bus Stop’ in Bariga, the septuagenarian described the move as “outright silly and a bloody distraction”.

According to Area Father, his main concern is how to rescue millions of Nigerians who daily go to bed hungry.
