Published on May 24, 2025 at 02:18 PM

The Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, has strongly kicked against the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu in his 2027 presidential bid.

This was contained in a statement by the National Chairman of the party, Mallam Falalu Bello, on Saturday.

DAILY POST reports that the Progressive Governors Forum and the National Assembly last Thursday at the APC National Summit

Bello, while reacting to the endorsement, maintained that the move was driven by desperation rather than genuine democratic will.

He equally stated that the move exposed the attempt of the APC to cling to power through orchestrated means rather than the genuine voice of the Nigerian people.

The PRP National Chairman, reiterated that power is not held by tactics alone but sustained by the people’s trust and belief, stressing that even the most formidable political machinery crumbles when the people’s confidence is lost.

According to him, Tinubu’s political machinery and endorsements may seem formidable, but they cannot silent the cries of the masses suffering under hardships.

“The people’s disillusionment is palpable and when citizens whisper. This is not what we voted for, it signals a fundamental disconnect between leadership and the governed.

“The APC’s current move to endorse Tinubu’s candidacy appears to be a classic case of a desperate power grab—an attempt to cement dominance through endorsements and political theatre rather than delivery of genuine democratic dividends,”;; he stated.

He urged the APC and Tinubu to understand that democracy is not just about endorsements but delivering tangible services to the people.

According to him, any attempt to belittle the fundamental principle of democracy through desperation is doomed to fail.
